CHILDREN'S EYE CARE
You're never too young to have your eyes examined.
It is extremely important to have your children's eyes examined regularly. At McCabe's, we have very friendly optometrists who have a wealth of experience when it comes to looking after children's eyes.
We appreciate that it can be an anxious time for children and their parents and, therefore, we will take our time to relax you and we will explain everything as we go along.
We are very pleased to be able to offer "Myopia Control" to children who are short sighted. This approach aims to reduce the amount of shortsightedness your child will develop. Please ask for details.

WHY ARE CHILDREN'S EYE TESTS IMPORTANT?
Just like adults, children rely heavily on their vision to learn, explore and interact with the world around them.
Regular eye tests can detect any vision problems or eye conditions that may affect their academic performance, social interactions, and overall quality of life.
Additionally, many eye conditions can be more effectively treated when detected early, making early intervention key.

WHEN SHOULD A CHILD HAVE AN EYE TEST?
Children should have their comprehensive eye exam between the ages of 6 months and 1 year.
Subsequent eye tests should be scheduled at the age of 3 years, before starting school, and then every year until the age of 16 (or as recommended by an eye care professional).
If there are any concerns about your child's vision or if they exhibit signs of vision problems, an eye test should be scheduled promptly.
