IMPLANTS

Dental implants can be used to replace one missing tooth, several missing teeth or when you have no remaining natural teeth.

Implants may be suitable for you if you have loose or decayed teeth, loose dentures, large gaps in your smile that make biting and chewing difficult and are seeking a long-term fixed replacement for your missing teeth. A dental implant is a small titanium rod that is made to replace the root of your missing tooth.

The implant is placed in your jawbone then after a period of three to six months ‘fuses’ with the surrounding tissues making it secure. Your dentist will then make bespoke crowns or bridgework which will be fixed to the implants. These will be colour-matched, shaped and sized to look like your natural teeth.

Dental implants are a simple, long lasting and cost effective solution to replace missing teeth. They are permanent, easy to maintain and will last a lifetime if looked after well.
