BRIDGEWORK

Dental bridges are fixed dental prostheses used to replace one or more missing teeth, bridging the gap between natural teeth.

They are typically composed of a false tooth supported by either a metal wing bonded to an adjacent tooth or by a dental crown on an adjacent tooth.

Dental bridges help restore a full smile, improve chewing and speaking abilities, and prevent teeth from shifting.

Adhesive or Maryland bridges can be used to restore single tooth gaps. These bridges use thin metal or porcelain ‘wings’ bonded to the inner surface of adjacent teeth. They require no or minimal tooth preparation. They can be a conservative and cosmetic way to restore single tooth gaps where the bite allows.

Conventional bridges are a fixed form of restorative treatment used to replace missing teeth. They require the tooth or teeth adjacent to the gap to be prepared as you would for a crown, then the lab manufactures what appears to be a crown suspended from the tooth crown to restore the gap.

Dental bridges can be used to fill in gaps, improving the appearance of your smile. Replacing missing teeth helps with chewing and speech. Bridges can also prevent adjacent teeth from drifting into the gap.

While not as effective as implants, bridges can help maintain bone structure in the jaw. Bridges are often a more affordable option compared to dental implants.
